“I love your ‘Internal Figurative’ type works because one can look forever and keep seeing new things.”

—Nick Noble, Designer

“I was blown away by the Internal Figurative works. What pauses time for me is the stillness and reflection captured in a moment of sometimes even vigorous movement.

Again, thank you for even allowing me to provide a home for your work.”

—Wendy Long

“Like the accomplished musician who sits down at a piano to improvise a score that ultimately stills and fills the room, she finds expression in the medium, trusting that no matter how discordant the notes or scribbles appear to be at first, she will be able to pull the threads together into something that’s meaningful.”

Brooklyn Museum’s “Go” Open Studios

More than 1,700 artists across Brooklyn opened their studio doors to the public during the Brooklyn Museum GO Open Studio. The event was very exciting and Meri received a large group of visitors, many newcomers, with whom she had the pleasure to meet and share her art.

From the Open Studios’ Guestbook:

“Was speechless. Thanks for opening up your home, explaining your process and for a deeper understanding of your work.”

—Justin M. Wil

“Hands down the most moving work... literally and figuratively! Thanks for sharing. Best of luck.”

—Kathlyn Wilson

“Beautiful work, definitely my favorite of the bunch. Love the gestural marks in black and white and in color. The longer you look at them, the more you see. It also helps to look away then look back and you see more and more figures in the drawings/ paintings. I also loved her explanations of the work and process. She really deserves a show in BK museum.”

“Often these images seem like they are from times past—a woman in a long dress or wearing a hat. Her drawings seem to me like ghosts that she has captured and expressed on paper.”

—Shari Epstein, Artist

“Like spirit forms... seen through a mist... I live on the water and I can imagine this level of vaporous transparency merging with the morning fog... lovely etheric work.”

—Donna Iona Drozda, Artist
